Since the launch of the WHO global snake bite strategy in 2019 , the efforts to reduce the harm caused by snake bites have increased. However, there is still a lack of overall programmatic uptake. The global snake bite strategy advocates a multidisciplinary approach, which includes: Improving treatments Strengthening health systems Engaging Communities Building partnerships Mobilizing resources To commemorate the event this year and increase advocacy regarding the strategies, the WHO organized two webinars on 19th September. The WHO and the International Red Cross Society have released a statement saying dead bodies from natural disasters and wars do not generally pose any health risk, and should be handled with dignity and respect. If burial is needed, it should be: Easily traceable Properly documented The bodies may harbor infections in cases of death due to infectious diseases. Care should be taken that the dead bodies aren’t closely attached to any water bodies to prevent their contamination. This charter: Outlines the core rights of the patient Seeks to assist Governments in ensuring that the patients' voices are heard. Each year, 1 in 10 patients experience harm in healthcare settings, most of which are preventable. Ocular injuries at workplace accounts for about 1 % of non fatal industrial injuries annually, and at least 30 % of unemployment are due to poor eye vision, the report says. Hence the need for co-ordinated initiatives to achieve the goals under Occupational safety and health programs has been emphasised, which includes: Prevent exposure to hazards. Stalin has introduced the "Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai Thittam" in Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu, on the occasion of DMK founder C.N. Annadurai's birth anniversary. This initiative aims to provide a monthly rights grant of ₹1,000 to 1.06 crore women heading households in the state. The scheme was officially launched, and ATM cards were distributed to the beneficiaries in Kancheepuram. Mr. Stalin acknowledged that the scheme's implementation was delayed upon assuming office in 2021 due to the state's financial constraints. A retrospective cohort study examined the degree of NPY implementation in India from 2018 to 2022 , using NTEP’s database of 3.7 million TB patients from nine randomly selected states The study results revealed that: The proportion of patients who received at least one NPY transfer has improved from 56.9% in 2018 to 76.1% in 2022. Increased political commitment and schemes like Jan Dhan Yojana have solved the problem of lack of bank accounts which was a major hurdle in delivering the DBT benefits to patients five years ago. Since 2018 the average time between diagnosis and receipt of NPY installment has reduced by half but considerable delays still exist nationwide; more in private sector notified patients.

The improvement was attributed to meteorology and emergency action based on pollution forecasting. The average PM 2.5 level in Delhi from October 1 to January 31 was 160 µg/m3, lower than the previous year . However, the highest average PM 2.5 level of 211 µg/m3 was recorded at the Nehru Nagar monitoring station , and Jahangirpuri was the most polluted neighborhood. Hotspots are identified in North and East Delhi.

An outbreak of cases was seen in Brazil, Canada, Ecuador, the Falkland Islands, Mexico, Peru, and the United States. Utilization of technology to improve quality of life Emphasizing gender equity The Government of India took the following steps to promote gender equity in the workplace: Occupational Safety Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020 : allows women to be employed in all establishments for all types of work with their consent at night. This provision has already been implemented in underground mines. The Revised Maternity Benefit Act, 2017 :increased' maternity leave with pay protection' from 12 weeks to 26 weeks for all women working in establishments employing 10 or more workers. This is expected to reduce the motherhood pay gap among working mothers. One Nation, One Ration Card : allows migrants to access their entitled food grains from anywhere in the Public Distribution System network in the country. e-Shram portal : launched to create a national database of unorganized workers, especially migrant and construction workers.
