Malaria's Menace: Climate Change, Population Growth Ignites Global Threat! Malaria's Menace: Climate Change, Population Growth Ignites Global Threat! Content Editor: Dr. Rashmi Verma November 9, 2023 Center for Infectious Disease Research And Policy Climate Change, Malaria A recent analysis reveals an alarming impact of climate change : 5 billion people world wide could face malaria by 2040. The risk is especially high in Africa ,where 1 billion people are at risk, complicating control efforts. The analysis warned that extended transmission seasons and mosquito migration jeopardizes progress, affecting high-burden countries like Mozambique, which also face rapid population growth . Further projections show potential threats in the United States, with warmer temperatures and increased rainfall intensifying malaria risk in vulnerable areas On a positive note, Jonathan Kurti, won Falk Medical Research Trust Transformational Award for anti malarial research, offering hope with stage-specific drugs and antibodies for severe cases and short-term prevention.

The CDC's isolation precautions guidelines revisited The CDC's isolation precautions guidelines revisited Content Editor: Dr. Sangya Chaudhary October 21, 2023 Centre for Infectious Disease Research and Policy Hospital Infection Prevention, International Health A group of healthcare professionals, including industrial hygienists, epidemiologists, and healthcare worker representatives, plan to send a second letter to the CDC. This letter will re-emphasize the need to hold public meetings regarding the proposed update to the CDC’s isolation precautions guidance by the Healthcare Infection Control Practices Advisory Committee (HICPAC). The last update for this was done in 2017. This guidance sets infection control protocols for various pathogens in healthcare settings. Critics argue that the proposed changes fail to address lessons learned from COVID-19 and may weaken existing isolation procedures. They emphasize the importance of input from experts in aerosol transmission and respiratory protection. According to the CDC, the intention is to simplify safeguards for healthcare personnel. However, some contend that the suggested modifications represent a regression in the comprehension of the virus's mode of transmission. In response to the first letter sent in July 2023, the CDC said that it would consider input from key stakeholders and the public, but the group of collectives has reservations regarding the CDC's response.

This is subject to mandatory marking and labeling laid down under the rules and regulations of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) for food contact applications. Every manufacturer of commodities made from plastic shall: 1. Ensure pre-consumer plastic waste processing, created from rejected or discarded products of manufacture and 2.
