  • Since April 2023, the conflict in Sudan has forcibly displaced 10 million individuals within the country and an additional 2 million to neighboring nations like Chad, South Sudan, Egypt, and the Central African Republic.

  • Approximately 15 million people urgently require healthcare assistance, but only 26% of the necessary funding has been secured.

  • Food insecurity plagues 7.6 million people, with 6.3 million facing emergency-level food shortages

  • Compounding the crisis are multiple disease outbreaks, including measles, cholera, malaria, dengue, and meningitis.

  • The situation is dire, with over 3.6 million children and 1.2 million pregnant or breastfeeding women acutely malnourished, and a significant risk of famine in several regions.

  • Operational efforts include enhanced disease surveillance, support for health facilities, and trauma rehabilitation.

  • However, challenges persist due to restricted access, security issues, and supply chain disruptions, further exacerbated by the rainy season.

  • Coordination among 49 partner organizations aims to provide essential services and address gender-based violence. Immediate action and increased support are crucial to mitigate this overwhelming humanitarian catastrophe.
