WHO 2023 results report highlights health milestones and calls for unified action toward SDGs

The WHO Results Report 2023, released ahead of the 77th World Health Assembly (27 May - 1 June 2024), indicates the key achievements in the field of health.
These include, but not restricted to, the following:
RTS, S/A01 malaria vaccine reaching over 2 million children,
The R21/Matrix-M vaccine
Elimination of at least one neglected tropical disease from 14 countries
Additionally, the first all-oral MDR tuberculosis treatment was introduced, and significant progress was made in reducing industrial trans fats, increasing HIV antiretroviral therapy, declining tobacco use, and expanding HPV vaccination.
However, the triple Billion targets are off track.
These targets include 1 billion more people benefiting from universal health coverage, better protection from health emergencies, and improved well-being.
