Trail of destruction of Cyclone Mocha leaves Myanmar and Bangladesh in urgent need of aid

Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm "Mocha", a powerful deadly tropical cyclone is the first storm of the 2023 Indian cyclonic season.
It originated on 8th May in the North Indian Ocean and is affecting Myanmar and parts of Bangladesh.
It has injured 712 people, killed at least 84 people, leftover 100 missing, and caused about $1.07 million in damages throughout Myanmar and Bangladesh, disproportionately affecting the refugee camps.
Public health response(UNHCR, WFP, IOM, and Red Cross Society in liaison with local ministries of both countries) includes:

1. Evacuation of residents from low-lying areas,

2. Stockpiling of resources such as food, ambulances, medicines, and water purification pills.

3. Addressing the post-disaster threat of water-borne diseases.

4. Securing consistent funding for relief efforts is the need of the hour.
