The United States continues its global efforts to combat infectious diseases, including the ongoing Mpox outbreak.
In 2022, the country responded swiftly to the spread of Mpox by improving access to vaccines, tests, and treatments both domestically and globally.
A recent roundtable brought together global health leaders to enhance the response, especially in Africa.
The U.S. has pledged $500 million and one million vaccine doses to support African nations in controlling the outbreak, aligning efforts with the Mpox Continental Preparedness and Response Plan.
Support includes training health workers, disease surveillance, and improving laboratory diagnostics.
The US aims to foster partnerships with key institutions like the Africa CDC and WHO aim to build stronger health systems.
