The Air Quality index (AQI) of Delhi was'severe' and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change implemented stage III strict restrictions in the National Capital Region.
Delhi’s average AQI progressively improved to 318 .It fell below the threshold for GRAP stage III implementation(i.e.,Delhi AQI 401- 450).
It was decided that Stage III restrictions would be revoked and stage I and Stage II actions of GRAP would still remain in place to prevent from slipping further into ‘Severe’ category.
These decisions were also made by relying on forecasts given by Indian Meterological Department (IMD)/ Indian Institute of Technology -Madras(IITM) which forecasted ‘Verypoor/poor’ AQI for a few upcoming days.
