Tele MANAS launched on October 2022 to serve as the national tele-mental health toll-free service currently has 42 operational cells across the country and 19000 counselors attending to around 1300 calls per day. 

A sudden spike in the number of calls was also reported in the last 3 months, owing to exams season stating sleeping disturbances, sadness, stress, and anxiety as reasons for calling the helpline. 

Most of the calls were handled by the counselors on call itself; while around 7000 callers received follow-up calls, those needing specialist care were referred to the nearest healthcare centers.
