On 20th Jan 2023, closing day of the three day meeting of the Health Working Group of G20 India, Dr V K Paul, Member (Health), NITI Aayog stated the following points: The importance of Medical Value travel in achieving Universal Health Coverage. He emphasized how standardization and accreditation of healthcare facilities and medical travel facilitators along with digitization can ease the travel of global patients to visit India for their desired medical procedures and wellness services. Mentioned the increase in the utilization of traditional medical practices like Ayurveda in the Medical Value Travel sector. Announced the launch of “Heal in India” initiative to strengthen its healthcare services for international patients, “Heal by India” initiative to send out healthcare workforce to other countries, “Heal from India” initiative to develop the telemedicine sector.
