Suicide deaths from 2022 National Vital Statistics System (NVSS) mortality files were identified using International Classification of Diseases.
Three county-level factors (health insurance coverage, broadband internet access, household income) were selected based on published literature and relevance to suicide prevention strategies, which were measured and linked with dependent county of residence.
Overall, suicide rates were inversely related to each of three county-level factor textiles.
This analysis found higher suicide rates continue to affect certain sociodemographic groups, such as rural residents, males and white populations
It is essentially important for population affected by suicide that decision makers, government agencies and community can work together to implement programs, practices, and policies that increase access to health insurance and broadband internet and promote economic support, combined with downstream actions that support persons at increased or immediate risk for suicide.
