• The Emergency Medical Teams (EMT) initiative aims to enhance the promptness and quality of health services delivered by national and international Emergency Medical Teams, while also strengthening the capacity of national health systems to lead the activation and coordination of rapid response capabilities in the immediate aftermath of a disaster, outbreak, or other emergencies.

• Based on the mobility and the level of care provided EMTs are divided into four different groups, as part of the the WHO;s EMT 2030 strategy..

• This type 2 EMT follows international EMT standards, after a rigorous 6 year process.

• Till date, 49 countries including Senegal have received WHO classification for meeting international EMT standards.

1. Deployable globally within 72 hours of need

2. Can cater to medical and surgical needs of 2500 patients for a 4 week period.
