Revolutionizing e-waste management: Introducing "Recycling on Wheels"

  • The Technology Department Board has come up with an innovative e-waste management portal, “Recycling on Wheels.”

  • This was launched in view of the alarming crisis in e-waste management.

  • The guidelines for the same are as follows:

  1. Deploy the pre-processing of e-waste on Wheels Facility at the site.

  2. Scanning and serialization of the e-waste devices

  3. Feeding the devices into the shredder for shredding

  4. Shredded material drops in the bins below the shredder under a secured cage

  5. Environmentally benign collection of shredded e-waste

  • This project shall spread its wings all over the formal and informal sectors, in line with Extended Producer Responsibility.

  • It will help in serving Special Economic Zones (SEZs), R&D centers, etc.

  • The shredded e-waste will help in:

  1. Improving transportation efficiency

  2. Reducing cost and labor requirements

  3. Extraction of metals from the same will also be possible

  4. Curb the alarming crisis of e-waste production and management

  5. Help boost the Indian Economy.
