• The paper, titled "Rescuing Ganges River dolphins from irrigation canals in Uttar Pradesh, North India, 2013-2020,” discusses rescue methods and provides insights into the behaviors' and demographics of the rescued dolphins and their restrained locations. • During this period, 24 rescue operations were conducted, resulting in the rescue of 19 dolphins, with five unfortunate deaths. • The dams and barrages significantly impacted the dolphins' habitat, forcing them into canals, they faced various risk that includes rapidly diminishing waters, heat-related issues, and human tampering • The Gangetic River dolphin is listed as an "endangered" species on the IUCN Red List and is protected by Indian wildlife laws and international conventions. • Researchers observed that a higher proportion of females may be seeking an easier prey base in the canal system. • The challenge of rescuing and keeping these delicate animals’ alive underscores the importance of ongoing monitoring efforts.
