Around 67 health facilities were destroyed and 10000 people were displaced by the earthquake. 

After a natural disaster like an earthquake, routine immunization services will be disrupted. 

Supplementary immunization activities like campaigns have to be conducted to prevent further disasters from vaccine-preventable diseases. 

Two months after the earthquake, Syria launched a Vaccination drive supported by WHO, GAVI and UNICEF. 

Around eight lahks of under five children will be vaccinated against measles and polio.
