Bangladesh has reported 14 Nipah virus cases this year out of which 10 were fatal.
Cases were reported from 7 districts out of a total of 64 in the country.
Alarmingly, the virus has been detected for the first time in breast milk in Bangladesh.
Usually, Nipah infections show a seasonal pattern from December through May, coinciding with the harvesting of palm sap and festivities.
Health officials urged people to avoid drinking date sap, which can be contaminated by bat droppings and spread the disease.
