The Delhi government is implementing a summer action plan from June 15 to September 15, aiming to address pollution and improve tree survival rates.
The plan aims to improve Delhi's air quality and involves schoolchildren in Eco Club activities to raise environmental awareness.
Gopal Rai, the Environment Minister, presented a 12-point agenda that addressed a number of environmental problems, including waste management, industrial pollution, and dust pollution.
The plan calls for initiatives to plant trees, control dust, build city forests, restore lakes, and assess the viability of the current water bodies.
Anti-Dust Campaign: 580 patrolling teams will check construction sites from June 15 to June 30 to make sure dust management measures are in place.
Mechanical road sweeping machines and water sprinklers will be deployed to prevent dust pollution.
More than 1000 patrolling teams will be deployed to prevent open burning of trash, with 338 teams during the day and 235 teams at night.
Over the past eight years, there has been a 30% decrease in pollution levels and an increase in the number of days with "good," "satisfactory," and "moderate" air quality.
These initiatives are part of Delhiās efforts to combat air pollution, especially during the summer months.
