The Trade Union Consultation Committee (TUCC) presented their demands at the pre-budget consultation meeting with the Finance Minister.
They called for ASHA, Anganwadi, and mid-day meal workers, who face similar risks as organized sector workers, to be recognized as permanent employees and included in social security schemes.
The TUCC also urged recognizing domestic help as workers, who constitute a significant portion of urban unorganized workers, to ensure their social security coverage.
Additionally, they emphasized extending social welfare to gig workers, who are more prone to health issues.
The heatwave significantly impacted food delivery workers and construction site workers.
Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh demanded increased funding to boards under special categories- beedi, fisheries, agriculture.
