After eight days without any new cases, on October 24, 2024, Rwanda's health ministry announced one additional case, bringing the outbreak's total to 63 cases while the death toll remained at 15.

The latest patient is doing well and is not exhibiting the typical Marburg symptoms after receiving the Marburg vaccination a few days ago. 

Also, it's unclear if the patient was exposed to the virus before or after vaccination.

Although no deaths have been reported in the last ten days, despite the generally positive picture, officials cannot rule out more contacts reaching the symptomatic phase.
