  • Asthma, a chronic lung condition, can be managed through proper clinical care and self-management.

  • The New York State Department of Health analyzed asthma-related emergency department (ED) visits from 2016 to 2022 using Esri’s Emerging Hot Spot Analysis.

  • The study revealed urban areas like Buffalo, Rochester, and NYC had significant asthma hot spots, with ED rates decreasing during the pandemic compared to pre-pandemic levels.
