Indian Standards of Millet Production recieves applause at 46th CAC in Italy

The Codex Alimentarious Commission (CAC) appraised the Indian standards of millet production during its 46th session held in Rome, Italy.
The 15 types of millets and 8 quality parameters presented by India have gained applause from CAC.
Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya has expressed his appreciation to the Indian delegation for this glorious achievement which coincides with the International Day of Millets.
The 8 quality parameters proposed by the FSSAI under the leadership of Shri G Kamala Vardhana Rao involve the limitation of moisture, uric acid, extraneous material, edible grains, weevilled grains, immature and shriveled grains, and defects.
This was the 60th anniversary of the session in which India enrolled as a member in 1964 chairing 12 Environmental Working Groups.
