Shri Amit Shah, Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, emphasized India's commitment to achieving a 'Drug-Free India' with a 'zero tolerance' policy towards drugs.
The "whole of government" approach is committed to this initiative.
Under this policy, the government has "zero-tolerance" against drugs, intending to eradicate drug addiction.
The significant achievements recently include a nearly 100% increase in seized narcotics, with a 152% rise in cases registered against drug traffickers.
The quantity of seized drugs doubled to 3.95 lakh kgs, and their value surged 30 times to Rs. 22,000 crore.
Anti-narcotics agencies have also destroyed 12 lakh kgs of drugs worth Rs. 12,000 crore, alongside freezing assets valued at ₹74,75,00,531 through financial investigations.
