  • A decline in TB incidence, increased diagnostic testing, improved financial assistance, integrated patient support and community involvement in the year 2023 as compared to the then status in 2015 were the achievements listed.

  • India aims to reduce TB incidence by 80% and mortality rate by 90% and zero house-hold getting infected and suffering from catastrophic expenses.

  • The global average in decline was 8.3% whereas India recorded a remarkable 17.7% decrease in incidence of Tuberculosis.

  • The focus of National Strategic Plan (2017 to 2025) was on innovative diagnostics and comprehensive care.

  • The program has addressed HIV, malnutrition, substance abuse and diabetes for enhanced outcome of TB treatment

  • The NTEP conducted 68.3 lakh Nucleic Acid Amplification Tests and 1.83 crore sputum smear tests in 2023 thereby resulting in an increase in diagnostic testing.

  • 1croreTB patients have been provided with rupees to 781 crores under Ni-kshay Poshan Yojana.

  • For TB care and awareness, the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan mobilized over 1.5 community workers.
