Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh has introduced 'Kisan Kavach,' India's first indigenous anti-pesticide bodysuit designed to shield farmers from the harmful effects of pesticide exposure.
Developed by BRIC-inStem, Bangalore, in collaboration with Sepio Health Pvt. Ltd., the suit utilizes advanced fabric that deactivates pesticides upon contact, significantly reducing health risks such as respiratory issues and vision loss.
Priced at ₹4,000, the washable and reusable 'Kisan Kavach' is designed to last up to a year, making it a cost-effective solution for the agricultural community.
The launch underscores the Indian government's dedication to leveraging science and technology for societal benefits, aiming to enhance farmer safety and promote sustainable agricultural practices.
