  • Delhi faces a potential vector-borne disease crisis due to flood-induced waterlogging and an impending strike by domestic breeding checkers (DBC).

  • Municipal Corporation of Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi warned of increased mosquito-borne disease risk and urged DBC employees and field workers to be vigilant in preventing diseases.

  • However, DBC workers demand regularization, safety, and better equipment and threaten to strike if their requests are not met.

  • The MCD claims to be prepared to deal with the situation, but DBC employees criticize the lack of implementation of previous orders.

  • Amidst rising cases of dengue, malaria, and chikungunya, authorities appeal to DBC workers not to strike during this critical time.
