Data from 3,792 persons (18–64 years old) who were diagnosed with COVID-19 during the first COVID wave in 2020 were gathered for the report from an Optum database.

Endocrine, nutritional, and metabolic problems increased by 123% in healthy individuals, while digestive disorders increased by 76%.

The post-acute phase of COVID-19 resulted in a 578% rise in inpatient visit expenses and an outpatient visit cost increase even for those who were not hospitalized during the acute phase.
