  • On World Hypertensive Day this year, a few new initiatives under NP-NCD.

  •  A population of 75 million will be provided the standard care for Hypertension and Diabetes through PHCs by 2025- 75/25 initiative.

  • Launch of the Shashkt portal to familiarise the Standard treatment workflow for non-communicable diseases of all PHC Medical officers. 

  • With the upgradation of NPCDCS to NP-NCD (National Programme for Prevention & Control of Non-Communicable Diseases), the services have now spread their wings from Cardiovascular diseases, Diabetes, Cancer, and Stroke to other NCDs like COPD, Asthma, CKD, NAFLD, STEMI.

  • The scheme lays emphasis on 

  1. Multisectoral coordination,  

  2. Community participation, and 

  3. filling the gaps through Active preventive measures like lifestyle changes, physical activity, and Inculcation of other wellness practices.
