  • It was planned under the 15th Finance Commission period across the country.

  • It functions by addressing issues affecting women and making them equal partners in nation-building through convergence and citizen ownership.

  • It has two sub-schemes:

  1. SAMBAL: It features a One-stop center, Women helpline-181, Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, and Nari Adalat.

  2. SAMARTHYA: It includes Pratan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, Palna, Shakti Sadan, Sakhi Niwas, and a hub for the empowerment of women.

  • “Nari Adalat” 1st phase is being implemented in Assam in 7 blocks of 7 districts and UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
