  • The Government of India has directed all Central Government Hospitals, including AIIMS and other Institutes of National Importance (INIs), to enhance security measures.

  1. The installation of high-resolution CCTV cameras at strategic locations, stricter entry controls with mandatory identification for staff and visitors, and limiting the number of attendants with patients.

  2. Hospitals are also required to train staff in handling security threats, improve lighting in dark areas, and establish comprehensive emergency response plans.

  3. Additional provisions include setting up public address systems, ensuring female staff safety during night shifts, and appointing patient facilitators.

  4. Additional measures include providing secure rest areas for female staff on night shifts, appointing patient facilitators, and implementing comprehensive emergency plans.

  • These actions aim to enhance security while maintaining public access and ensuring the safety of patients and healthcare workers.
