During the fifth meeting of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Body (INB) this week, countries discussed and mapped out a global accord on pandemic prevention, preparedness and response. 

Countries deliberated about their concerns, ideas and suggestions for protecting against the future pandemic in drafting the pandemic accord. 

More than 300 amendments to International Health Regulations (IHR- 2005) have been put forward for discussion for strengthening the global response to public health emergencies.

The proposed amendments of IHR and the final draft of the pandemic accord will be presented at the 77th World Health Assembly in May 2024.
