Rabies Vaccine, Global Support, International Relations

Indian Immunologicals Ltd.(IIL) and two other pharmaceutical companies donated 10,000 doses of anti-rabies vaccine to five economically backward provinces of Vietnam.
This donation is part of IIL’s One Health and outreach program, which includes initiatives like the Rabies Free Thiruvananthapuram project.
The Rabies Free Thiruvananthapuram project in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, is a significant initiative that aims to eradicate rabies by vaccinating stray dogs, promoting responsible pet ownership, controlling the dog population, and ensuring timely vaccinations.
IIL is developing vaccines for various zoonotic diseases, including rabies, brucellosis, leptospira, porcine cysticercosis, Covid-19, Zika, and Kyasanur Forest Disease.
IIL has been supplying affordable vaccines to many developing countries and has a strong partnership with Vietnam.
Currently, Vietnam is facing a pressing issue with a 50% increase in rabies deaths during the first six months of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, which underscores the urgency of collective efforts.
