  • Maharashtra government has Mahatma Phule Jan Aarogya Scheme operational in addition to the Centre-run Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Scheme

  • These schemes did not cover dental treatment, leading to out-of-pocket expenditure by their beneficiaries for dental care.

  • Minister Tanaji Sahrawat announced that dental treatment will now be included under both schemes.

  • With the addition of 900 more hospitals, the schemes will now cover a total of 1,900 government and private hospitals, ensuring comprehensive healthcare for all.
