Dental care, Health Program, Universal health coverage, Out-of-pocket expenditure

Maharashtra government has Mahatma Phule Jan Aarogya Scheme operational in addition to the Centre-run Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Scheme
These schemes did not cover dental treatment, leading to out-of-pocket expenditure by their beneficiaries for dental care.
Minister Tanaji Sahrawat announced that dental treatment will now be included under both schemes.
With the addition of 900 more hospitals, the schemes will now cover a total of 1,900 government and private hospitals, ensuring comprehensive healthcare for all.
This expansion will be completed by the 31st of July.
