Dog import rules for low-risk countries: Updates from CDC

Starting August 1, 2024, the CDC has simplified the process for bringing dogs into the U.S. from countries with low or no rabies risk.
This change is intended to safeguard the health of both people and animals.
Dogs from these countries can now enter with a CDC form, provided they are microchipped and over six months old.
However, stricter regulations remain for dogs from high-risk areas, including additional documentation and vaccination requirements. Additionally, airlines have the option to request exceptions to these new rules.
