  • In a significant move to bolster healthcare accessibility, the Delhi High Court has instructed the central and state governments, along with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, to provide financial support to poor patients seeking medical treatment in the capital’s hospitals.

  • The court suggested a single window system through the appointment of a nodal officer in all government hospitals overseeing various schemes like Delhi Arogya Kosh, and Rashtriya Arogya Nidhi, among others.

  • The committee has also asked to fix the rates of equipment through the Central Procurement Agency.

  • The court also urged for a dynamic website of the hospital with real-time trackability of services like medicines, implants, etc.

  • This measure is expected to enhance the overall public health infrastructure and ensure that the citizens receive efficient medical care
