China is grappling with a surge in respiratory illnesses, particularly among children. This has been attributed to the eased COVID-19 restrictions and known pathogens such as Influenza, Mycoplasma Pneumoniae, Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), etc. The Union Health Ministry urged: The State governments - to ensure preparedness of health facilities in this scenario. to test the throat and nasal swabs of patients presenting with pneumonia-like symptoms. The IDSP (Integrated Disease Surveillance Project) surveillance units to carry out watchful monitoring of cases. The Health Ministry has reaffirmed that there is no alarming situation at present.
