Building hope: Youth cardboard wall highlights climate aspirations

They built a wall of recyclable cardboard boxes, representing the hopes and aspirations of the island nation's youth, frequently the worst climate change victims.
Ashley Lashley, a longtime activist who founded the Ashley Lashley Foundation in 2018, was the driving force behind the event to raise awareness of important social, environmental, and health issues.
The conference was supported by UNICEF, the UN Agency for Reproductive Rights, UNFPA (United Nations Fund for Population Activities), the Caribbean Development Bank, and the governments of Malta and Australia.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres, at the SIDS4 conference, stated that the international community must consistently commit to supporting fragile island nations.
He emphasized that multistakeholder partnerships—including those with the commercial sector—will be crucial to preventing climate change.
