AIIMS Bibinagar has introduced a drone service to expedite healthcare delivery, particularly in remote areas.
The initiative focuses on transporting tuberculosis medications and collecting sputum samples from primary health centers in tribal and hilly regions of Yadadri, Bhuvanagiri district.
This service has significantly reduced delivery times from two hours to approximately 5-8 minutes, enhancing patient privacy and treatment efficiency.
Operated by TSAW Drone Pvt Ltd, the drones have a payload capacity of 3–8 kg and a range of 30–60 km.
'Drone Didis,' women from local self-help groups trained in drone operations, play a crucial role in this project.
