An outbreak of adenovirus has been reported in West Bengal. 

As per the Indian Express news report, as on end of February 5,213 cases of Acute Respiratory Infection has been reported in West Bengal in the month of February. 

12 deaths have been attributed to Adenovirus infection tested at NICED (National Institute of Cholera and Enteric Diseases).  

Children are showing increased risk of pneumonia and hospital admission.
