  • The Ministry of Women &Child Development recently appraised a scheme for minor girls under Nirbhaya Fund for 74.10 cr.

  • The eligibility criteria include

  1.  Any girl who is a minor (<18 years), AND

  2.  Is a victim of Penetrative Sexual Assault AND

  3.  Is either an orphan or abandoned by family.  

  • The scheme aims to facilitate access to a range of services, including 

  1.  Educational access

  2.  Police assistance

  3.  Medical, psychological, and mental counseling

  4.  Legal help 

  5.  Insurance cover for the victim and her newborn
