Some of the announcements were either part of substantial financing promises made by organizations

They were made before COP 28, such as the Rockefeller Foundation's $100 million contribution, which is part of its $1 billion commitment to advance climate solutions announced in September. 

At the ceremony, Bill Gates announced the foundation's $100 million donation to the fund. 

The United States Agency for International Development has also pledged $114.5 million to the initiative. 

Donors promised approximately $777 million to control and eventually eliminate neglected tropical diseases such as lymphatic filariasis and onchocerciasis, or river blindness, from Africa by 2030 at the Reaching the Last Mile Forum, which also addressed climate change issues.
